HOW TO DETERMINE RIGHT TORSION SPRINGS FOR YOUR DOOR
Measure overall length of the spring--UNWOUND. Measure spring coils only. (Do not include the winding and stationary ends.)
Measure the Inside Diameter of the spring or look on winding cone or
stationary cone for size, (example 175 or 200 meaning either 1 3/4" or
Determine Wire Size. Measure the length of 10 or 20 coils of the spring then refer to the wire gauge chart below to determine your wire size.
Determine Spring Wind. Standing inside the garage, looking at the spring.
If the spring is mounted in the center and points to the right, the
spring is Left Hand Wound, (Black Winding CONE). If the spring points to the left, it is Right Hand Wound, (Red Winding CONE).

If you have 2 springs, we highly
recommend that you replace both springs at the same time unless one of them have
been replaced recently. If you require a length or wire size not shown
here please contact us we will make it for you. When measuring your
spring wire size measure the unwound spring. All springs listed below are in-stock and ready to ship within 1 business day of your order.
